What Tannya collects when you visit or join the waitlist, why, who processes it, and how to change your mind.
Last updated
Tannya (https://tannya.app) is run by Wassim and Ahmed. This policy explains what we collect when you visit this site or join its waitlist, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
Wassim and Ahmed is responsible for the personal data described here.
You can reach us at hello@tannya.app.
What we collect when you join
- Your email address, whether you confirmed it, and when.
- When you joined, and how many times the address was submitted.
- How you found the page, when the link said so: campaign labels such as
utm_source, the referring website's host name, the page you landed on, the version of the page, and your country as reported by Cloudflare. We do not store your IP address with your signup. - Your answers to the optional questions, if you give any.
- Your choices: permission to contact you, the newsletter, and analytics, with the wording you agreed to and when.
- A history of changes, such as confirmation, withdrawal, or rejoining.
- If you allowed analytics, the random IDs PostHog gave your browser and visit, so their events join your signup.
What we collect when you visit
Cloudflare hosts this site. Like any web host, it receives your IP address and browser details with each request, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form was sent by a person rather than a bot. It reads signals from your browser for that check only, and it does not ask you to solve puzzles unless something looks wrong.
Analytics with PostHog
Every visit is counted with PostHog, anonymously: the pages and sections you view, the buttons and questions you use, whether the signup form succeeded, and page speed. Nothing you type is sent. This uses no cookies and stores no identifier in your browser; PostHog groups the requests of a visit by a one-way daily hash of your IP address and browser details.
If you allow analytics, PostHog also remembers this browser with a random ID, records clicks, scrolling, and your visit as a replay with everything you type hidden, and links your visits to your signup. When you confirm your email, that ID is joined to a pseudonymous code for your signup, with your newsletter choice and whether your answers fit our pilot. PostHog never receives your email address, anything you write, or your answers to the optional questions: it learns only which questions you answered, and the questions are hidden from replays.
Why we use it
- To send you the confirmation link, and, if you agreed to be contacted, news about early access and invitations to our pilot and to short interviews.
- To send the newsletter, only if you ticked its box.
- To understand which campaigns and messages reach people who need the product, and to choose who to invite to the pilot.
- To keep the waitlist free of abuse and duplicate signups.
We rely on your consent to email you and for optional analytics, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and, without identifying you, in counting how it is used. You can withdraw consent at any time; that does not affect what was done before.
Who processes it
We use these service providers, each only for the purpose described:
- Cloudflare: hosting, the database that holds the waitlist, and sending our emails.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: checking that forms are sent by people.
- PostHog: product analytics and session replay, as described above.
These providers may process data outside your country. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else, including the shops and brands we talk about, unless the law requires it.
Cookies and browser storage
- This site keeps your analytics choice in your browser's local storage, so it asks only once.
- Cloudflare may set cookies needed to protect the site from abuse.
- Without your consent, PostHog uses no cookies or storage. With it, PostHog keeps a random ID in a cookie and in local storage.
You can change your analytics choice at any time with “Analytics choice” at the bottom of every page.
How long we keep it
- Your signup stays until you ask us to delete it. If you withdraw, we stop emailing you and keep the record of your withdrawal, so that a later signup with the same address cannot quietly undo it.
- Confirmation links expire after three days, and links to your preferences after 180 days.
- PostHog keeps analytics data for the retention period of our PostHog plan.
Your choices and rights
Every email we send has a link to your preferences, where you can withdraw permission to be contacted, rejoin, or change the newsletter setting. Withdrawing takes effect at once.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your data, and to object to or restrict how we use it.
To use these rights, write to hello@tannya.app.
You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Tunisia, that is the Instance nationale de protection des données personnelles (INPDP).
Children
This site is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
When what we collect or how we use it changes, we update this page and the date at the top. The terms of use cover the rest of how the site works.
